(2022) IITPSA President's Award: Social Responsibility/Community Award

The Institute of IT Professionals presents an annual award to a team or project delivering the benefits of IT on a not-for-profit basis into the community, or who brings the community into the IT space by addressing the digital divide. In collaboration with the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation (MSDF) and the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE), Siyavula deployed its technology to high schools in Gauteng in 2019, giving teachers and provincial officials access to detailed reports to diagnose problems and remediate. (2022) HundrED.org: Formative assessment - improving learning for every child

Siyavula was one of 14 innovations selected by the Jacobs Foundation in 2022, for our work on supporting both teaching and learning through formative assessment. Formative assessment refers to a variety of methods that teachers use in classrooms to conduct in-process evaluations of student comprehension, learning needs, and academic progress. Read more ...

(2016) KINSES: EduAward winner

Siyavula was one of five winners at the 2016 Kaizen, INSEAD and NYU Stern Education Symposium (KINSES). The awards were designed to help identify promising start-ups in Asia and Africa disrupting the education status quo with a mix of technology and innovative business models, and to recognise their efforts at the symposium.
